Hire a Ball Dress for Salon Privé Evening Ball

Dresses, ball gown or cocktail-style would be appropriate for women attending this summer evening do.   If you’ve been to the event before, you might have a firm grasp of the kind of ball dress /ball gown you’re going to wear.   Rooting through the evening dress selection in your wardrobe, there might well be enough stock in there to open your own shop.  Yet, none grab you-especially as you’ve already worn each one.   Then perhaps you’ve never considered ball gowns for hire.

Garvida Graces GMD

Jasper Garvida Dresses to Hire Now Available from GMD!

We are so excited to welcome fabulous Jasper Garvida dresses to rent on GMD!  A Central St. Martins Graduate, it was Jasper’s outstanding talent for fashion design that lead him to win Sky One’s Project Catwalk in 2008.  As Zandra Rhodes said of the then relatively unknown Jasper, ‘I can’t believe the details in Jasper’s workmanship, it’s a knockout!’  We can’t help but agree. And the new Jasper Garvida dresses to hire are cases in their very own point.

Take the Nina dress (right), crafted from sumptuous organza silk, with beautiful rosette corsage on the left strap.  A dress that won’t fail to disappoint whatever the occasion, be it at the races or for a wedding reception. Hire this Jasper Garvida dress for just £89. (Its RRP was a whopping £520.)  Give a nod to the new pastels trend that’s set to dominate pre-autumn, and rent the stunning Petipa dress (left). Once again, Jasper’s exceptional attention to detail is evidenced in this piece. We love the pronounced ruffles that sit gently on each hip- uber waist thinning!   Rent this dress for £89, to buy it is a staggering £585!

Maybe pastels aren’t your thing, and you’d prefer something with a bit of an edge.  Cue the multi-coloured dresses we have just added to the Jasper Garvida collection.  Inspired by tribal prints, this Garvida’s Miele halterneck dress for example, is the ideal way to channel the ethnic trend popular for summer.  Wear it with stacked gold bangles for an oh-so-perfect urban chic look.

Herve Leger Dresses GMD Loves

Rent a Herve Leger Dress

What a Leger! Herve Leger dresses couldn’t have a more natural season bedfellow than summer.  The most famous lusted-for dress style, the Herve Leger bandage dress, is now hotter than ever as the label’s trademark design.  The following Herve Leger bandage dresses to hire are available from GMD.  If Herve L isn’t normally on your affordability radar, you’ll be glad to know that these Herve Leger dresses will be. Normally retailing at well over £1,000, you can hire a Herve dress from our collection for the irresistible sum of £129.

Simmer in a Herve Leger Black Bandage Dress

Be sultry and sophisticated in this Herve Leger black bandage dress. Hugely popular with the A-List set, Doutzen Kroes, Heather Graham, Kristin Cavalari, and Heidi Montag have all been spotted in the Herve Leger black bandage dress.  In other words, it’s a highly sought-after and covetable piece!  Rent this Herve Leger dress for £129. (RRP £1,712).  And we suggest that like Kristin, you team yours with a simple cuff, like this suede one from Bex Rox, available in the jewellery for sale section.

Look Just Beachy in a Green & Grey Herve Leger Dress

What we particularly like about this dress, is that it would look just as good in the form of stylish beach day-wear as it would for looking sexy for evening cocktails.  Very Liz Hurley urban chic, or Eva Longoria Miami beach.  And the green and grey is such a fantastic marriage of colour.  A marriage we think’s worth celebrating.  Via renting the dress, of course.  And there’ll be yet more to celebrate if you rent this Herve Leger dress, given that at £119 it’s a snip of the original £1,633 price tag.  Why not add an Elvira Sazesh fringed bracelet for some added interest; it will also stop the look from looking the wrong side of sporty.

Be Fuschia Fabulous in this Herve Leger Bandage Dress

What better way to do the brights trend than in something so far up on the Richter scale of sexy?! Men will be falling at your feet. Somehow we admire how Herve Leger bandage dresses can make even mere mortals such as ourselves look body fabulous.  Maybe it’s because we have to squeeze and squeeze into these curve-hugging creations to the point when it looks as though what we really bought was a personal trainer, not a dress! But when you can hire a Herve Leger dress for £129, when it should have cost £1252, you even have money left for the trainer too!

Kate Middleton in a Designer Dress? ‘Fraid not!

‘Princess of the High-Street’.  That should be the Duchess’s real title.  It was expected upon joining the FIRM, Kate would go from high-street shopper, to designer clothes covetress.  How wrong we were.  It seems Kate’s ongoing high-street love affair is as strong as ever, even now that she has embarked upon royal married life.

Kate’s Non-Designer Dress Choice to Meet Fashion’s First Lady

We refer to Kate’s choice of outfit she wore to meet Barack and Michelle Obama yesterday, at a reception in Buckingham Palace.   While William and Barack were deep in discussion, Kate chatted animatedly to Michelle in, (cue: designer name,) err, wait a minute, a REISS dress!

You certainly have to admire the Duchess’s sang-froid in not opting to wear ‘designer’ when you consider that Mrs Obama is something of fashion icon- a true first lady of fashion; she arguably gets as much coverage as her husband thanks to the attention her outfit choices bring her.

Michelle Wears Tom Ford for the Banquet

We should add, that yesterday was no exception – Michelle wore an outgoing ensemble by California designer Barbara Tfank.  But for the first lady of fashion, it was only the beginning, with Michelle surpassing herself and her earlier outfit later that evening when she arrived at the photo-call in a criss-cross halterneck white floor-length gown by Tom Ford.  Teamed with white opera gloves, Michelle’s gown really stole the show.  (Queenie looked radiant as ever, we hasten to add.  Goes without saying really!)

The Duchess of Cambridge: A Style Icon in the Making

But back to Kate: we are growing fonder of the Duchess by the day! Long live the Princess of the High-Street! Or the High-Street’s Princess.  We’re not sure which one we prefer.  So, now that Reiss’ website has crashed due to the influx of orders placed for Kate’s Cream bandage-esque, capped shoulder number, just where is there to turn for something similar?

We have come up with the following solutions. And what’s more, they might well have cost more to start with than Kate’s but these designer numbers come with high-street price tags!

Kate really is missing a trick here; she would be a brilliant brand ambassador for GMD! (Get in touch Kate, if you’re listening).  On-line designer dress hire and the Duchess are simply a match made in heaven!  What’s more, we love the Duchess’s choice of a nude colour palette, so very now!  Which is why, we’ve chosen our favourite GMD designer dresses to hire, all in a lovely tone of nude a la Kate.  A style-icon in the making in our opinion!
