Rent Dina Bar-El for a Show-Stopping Designer Dress

German born Dina, moved to the United States at the age of 18 where she has built her gorgeous collection of ball gowns and cocktail dresses and generated a huge following of fans and celebrities.  Based in California, the dresses are entirely made in the United States and designed to flatter and accentuate a woman’s curves.  As described by Dina, Plunging necklines, flouncy fishtails, two-tone gowns and asymmetrical drapes have ensured her dresses remain in the limelight.

Her collections reached an all time high when Kate Hudson wore her yellow, back-less gown in the film ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’.   Romantic, elegant and sophisticated she mixes the classic with a contemporary twist like nobody else.  Her dresses are on-trend yet maintain a high level of quality for an extremely reasonable price.  Inspired by her late daughter Orna, Dina’s collections are made with love and with a special appreciation for glamour and femininity.   Her collections are now sold worldwide.

Hire one of Dina’s gorgeous gowns from Girl Meets Dress today!  Here are some of our favourites…

The Louise Dress  is a statement, black-tie gown covered in lace with a fitted bodice and fish-tail skirt.  This elegant and highly glamorous dress is the perfect choice for a romantic, black-tie occassion.  Ensure you stand out from the crowd with a look that exudes old Hollywood glamour.

The Penelope Dress is fitted with a plunging neckline and fitted ruched bodice.  In plum with a corsage embellishment, this is another extremely romantic and elegant Dina Bar-El gown.  With its satin-chiffon draped skirt, team with strappy silver heels, a metallic clutch and long, delicate necklace to complete the look.

Finally, we have the Anastasia Gown, an asymmetrical dress with crystal embellishment on the shoulder.  In cream, silk-chiffon, the ruched bodice completes this evening gown with a high luxury look.  Keep the dress simple with matching silver accessories and strappy heels.

GMD Dress Code Guide – What Dress to Wear for that Perfect Winter Date

Looking great while feeling warm is a battle we must face every year as soon as winter hits us.  Throw a date into the dilemma and you’ve got yourself a problem.  Do you go with the pretty dress that’s about as warm as wearing your bikini in November? or do you go with the snug outfit that will ensure warmth but not necessarily a second date?  With some GMD advice you will no longer need to compromise as we have the perfect suggestions for those blustery (but oh so romantic) winter dates.

American Retro‘s flash dress is the perfect solution for a glamorous yet snug look.  Body-con stretch, this long sleeved mini accentuates your figure without adding bulk.  Team it with sky-high heels, chunky gold jewellery and a metallic clutch for an on-trend look, suitable for dinner all the way to the dance floor.

Or, for a slightly more casual look why not opt for our Cambria Paillette dress by Velvet.  In charcoal grey with a deep v-neck, the dress is covered in silver paillettes and the sleeves are cropped so you can show off your jewellery.  Team with a chunky necklace and bracelets and ankle boots for the ultimate casual but cool look.

Finally, we have our gorgeous cashmere and fur dress by Fendi.  The luxurious brown wrap dress with cream fur details has a self-tie belt to fit your waist perfectly.  Team with nude stilletos or thigh high boots and delicate jewellery for the perfect day into night dress.

The Week in Dresses – Designer Dresses off the Catwalk

Last week saw so much buzz on the catwalk during LFW we almost forgot the glamours attending the shows!  Tearing our eyes away from the dazzling couture on the catwalk, attendees included models, singers, socialites, bloggers, editors, photographers (the list goes on).  There were fashionistas everywhere we turned draped in immaculate dresses.  The eclectic mix of fabrics, silhouettes and sequins on display was overwhelming. Naturally with all the press surrounding the biggest fashion weeks around the globe we would have a bazillion favourites so we’ve tried to cut it down.  Here’s a few…

The gorgeous Poppy Delevigne glistened in her long-sleeved Temperley dress.  Perfectly complimenting her blonde-bombshell hair, this sheer number was populated with beads and sequins and stretched to the floor with three layers of tassels.

Pixie Geldof looked as sophisticated as ever in her Giles Deacon gown.  Labelled the ‘Face Dress’ and previously worn by Lily Cole, this frock is extremely unique.  With its bustier style waist and elusive print which creates a layered look, this dress was sure to turn heads.  Pixie glammed it up with peep-toe stilletos and simple gold jewellery.

Rochelle Wiseman wowed crowds in a Roberto Cavalli gown.  The snakeskin floor-length, deep neck dress with front and back cut-outs was an undisputed show-stopper.  With her hair neatly twisted up and simple metallic clutch we’re sure she made Cavalli proud.

Finally, Poppy Delevigne once again however this time sporting a very different style in a Christopher Kane animal featured day dress.  Cool and casual with her Mulberry satchel and red Ray Bans, Delevigne worked this dress to perfection.  Choose from our stunning collection of Christopher Kane with both day and evening dresses.

The Perfect Birthday Dress-Ask Anna

“My birthday is coming up and I am having a party where both family and friends will be attending.  I’ll be turning 18 so will need a dress that will wow my friends but won’t shock my family.  I am on a budget so please only suggest dresses under £100.â€

For such a special occasion such as your birthday we can understand your desire to have a show-stopping dress yet one that won’t make family members (particularly grandparents) want to cover you up in a coat as soon as you arrive!  A special dress that will stand out for all the right reasons is what you’ll need to create the desired look that will impress all of your attendees, whatever their age…

Our Marc Jacobs Rainbow Paillette dress is the ultimate in glam and was even worn by Fergie at the Teen Choice awards.  On its own, the black bustier may be a little too ‘little’ for the grandparents however, with its sheer black tulle overlay and beautiful detailing consisting of horizontal rainbow sequinned stripes it’s the perfect party dress.  Team with a colourful chunky necklace and sky-high heels as illustrated below.

Another great choice is our Winona Dress by Amee Lou.  In gorgeous plum, this asymmetric frock screams luxury couture with its layered taffeta-chiffon.  Accessorize with long earrings and a metallic clutch and you’ll be head to toe glam!

Finally, our Alice and Olivia Salmon Sequinned Dress will ensure the limelight is all yours.  Particularly girly, make this ballerina-esque with your hair wrapped up into a bun and show-stopping silver platforms .
