New Designer – Kelly Love

Kelly Love began in Australia after Kelly herself spent some time in Japan.  While Kelly was there she spent some time working with a designer before being encouraged to start her very own label.  Kelly produces romantically chic clothes made with European fabrics, creating an effortlessly luxurious look and feel.  Kelly Love is now based in London, and we are excited to be bringing these beautiful dresses to our customers!

Romantic prints and feminine silhouettes with vintage influences complete the sentimental feel of the stunning dresses.  The quintessential collars are bang on trend and instantly give the dresses a youthful feel.  Why not team these dresses with a faux fur stole to get the perfectly classic, English look!

New Designer – Bundle MacLaren

We are very excited to be bringing you our first hat desinger; Bundle MacLaren! Bundle launched her company in 2009 and after designing an impressive 12 bespoke pieces for the royal wedding in April 2011, the millinery brand has gone from strength to strength.  Bundle studied at the prestigious Kensington and Chelsea College before doing an apprenticeship with esteemed milliner Gina Foster.  We love the beautifully individual hats here at GMD HQ as they each have a quirky quality that will compliment any dress.

The hats are made in her Battersea home with each one being her own, unique design.  These creations are forever featuring in magazines such as Vogue and Tatler and the fourth collection has excelled with classic yet modern head pieces that ooze glamorous eccentricity.  They’re perfect for a wedding, a day at the races or just when you’re keen to dress to impress!  Team with one of our elegant dresses for an originally stylish outfit!

New Designer – Stolen Girlfriends Club

Stolen Girlfriends Club launched 7 years ago by 3 friends feeling tired of not finding the clothes they wanted to wear available within the market.  Surprisingly the male, New Zealand, surfers had no design training but still began their adventure on making rebellious, edgy and unique clothes.  The boutique has now, unsurprisingly, spread internationally and they are stocking in over 13 countries worldwide, including here on Girl Meets Dress!

The collection is vibrantly bold and yet still oozes a chic rock ‘n’ roll quality.  A firm favourite of the fashion frontline (including bloggers and even celebrities), Stolen Girlfriend Club are ruling the fashion boutique world and are continuing to grow; now including menswear, womenswear and jewellery in their collection.  Celebrity fans include Kate Bosworth and Daisy Lowe.

The week in dresses: Hunger Games special

If you haven’t heard of the Hunger Games (aka the new Twilight), where have you been?! The movie adaptation of the much-hyped book, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Elizabeth Banks, has been premiereing all over the world, giving its stars the chance to show off their fashion finery. But who worked the black and red carpet best?

A gold star has to go to Jennifer Lawrence, who showcased her style credentials in three stunning dresses. In LA, a futuristic Prabal Gurung gold lame gown ensured she outshone her co-stars, keeping it daring with a thigh high split and cut-out details. London saw Jennifer go one step further with a handmade, one of a kind Ralph Lauren crocodile skin halter-neck – it took over 800 hours to to hand bead the frock! She kept things understatedly chic in Paris with a fierce, form-fitting zip Tom Ford frock – the sexy was brought back, literally, with a completely open back. Ladies and gentleman, Jennifer Lawrence has arrived.

Zesty and packing a punch, Elizabeth Banks seemed to take her colour palette straight from the fruit bowl! She zinged in orange beaded Versace at the LA premiere – not sure about the First Lady style hair though, we think an edgier ‘do would’ve worked wonders. London was treated to a citrus yellow Bill Blass backless gown topped off with Jimmy Choos, naturally whilst in Paris, an embellished Marc Jacobs berry-toned frock wowed the crowds.

But who’s style do you like best?
