Prom Dress Hire- The Top 5 Prom Dresses for Hire

In need of a ball gown? Finding the perfect ball gown dress for summer is a tall order. Prom Dresses and ball gowns are by no means in short supply. And then there’s the time of year to consider on commencing your pilgrimage for the perfect ball gown/prom dress(*es). (*You may be on the look-out for multiple special occasion dresses.) Ever considered prom dress hire before?

Special Occasion Dresses- A Question of Ball Dress Colour

The colour of your ball dress is a tricky thing to get right if you’re hoping that the perfect ball gown dress out there looks on-trend and fashion forward, without jarring against your personal style. And as us Brits know all too well, summer weather can be anything but summery, meaning the ball gown, prom dresses selection process needs to be done while taking the weather into strict account.  Here are some of the sexy numbers we think are the pick of the summer crop, available from our online prom dress/ ball gowns for hire collection:

Prom Dress Hire- Ball Gown/Prom Dresses To Die For….

1. The brainchild of 3 siblings- all fashion devotees, Lolita Karma ball gown/prom dress creations have the unique stamp of each sister imprinted in their style and finish.  This ‘Lila’ ball dress is no exception.  The ball dress is a sophisticated floor-length cut, while the dash of yellow across the body gives it that summery colour pop ‘pep’.

2. Edgy, sexy Australian label ‘Ruth Tarvydas’ – as seen coveted by many of the A-list set- from Rihanna to Jodie Kidd.  Producing chic ball gown designs with bold cutting-edge twists, Ruth Tarvydas is the epitome of avant-garde when it comes to ball dress fashion designs.  This orange beaded ball dress is a case in point, and it’s right on ‘colour’ trend.

3.  A Girl Meets Dress fashion designer favourite, Dina Bar-El ball gown/prom dresses and other special occasion dresses retain a global appeal, as well as being popular with A-listers. This luxurious champagne coloured ball gown dress (far left) is fresh and sophisticated, and the open detailing at the bust hikes up its va-va-voom factor.

4. Our love for Ruth Tarvydas prom dresses, ball gowns, didn’t stop at one dress.  This stunning ‘Rose Idol’ ball dress (below) is guaranteed to turn heads, no matter what the event.

5.  Last, but by no means least, is the Amee Lou ‘Floris’ ball gown dress, part of the Amee Lou ‘Ready to Wear ‘After 5/Special Occasion’ dresses collection, from Aussie fashion designer, Amy Boers.   Simple yet, elegant, this taffeta dress with asymmetric flounce overlay and mini-train is the perfect prom dress for summer.  The light fabrics keep it seasonal, the cut keeps the look flirty, while the black adds just the right amount of sophistication.  A perfect prom dress that can be dressed up or down.

Designer Dress hire: The ‘Pros’ Over the ‘Cons’

Designer dress hire: would you rent designer dresses? Or does the thought of cocktail dresses and ball gowns for hire really not sit comfortably with you?   The fact is, many would rather splash out when it comes to luxury fashion goods- seeing the purchase of say, a 3.1 Phillip Lim Blaze Red Tiered Dress  as an ‘investment.’   But just how well do these ‘investments’ pay off?

Hire Designer Dresses- The Economic Reasons for Doing It

When a piece by a luxury fashion designer such as Phillip Lim’s tiered dress retails at over 500 pounds, who wouldn’t want to look into designer dress hire as an alternative.  (The red tiered dress by 3.1 Philip Lim would only cost 59, if we’re talking designer dress hire instead of buying!)

Rent Designer Dresses – The Style Reasons for Doing It

And as women who already rent designer dresses will tell you, no longer will you have to throw on that fool-proof, safe option LBD that you bought two seasons ago and seem to find yourself wearing at almost every event you go to.

What’s more, opting to hire designer dresses will open up your life to a whole new wardrobe, from which you are able to choose from a plethora of statement luxury fashion pieces by top fashion designers.  With items picked by discerning fashion buyers, you’ll get to browse and rent designer dress hire pieces by little-known, up-and-coming designers, ensuring you are the talk of all your friends and colleagues.

And the cons…The article title did promise there would be cons…Having to return the dress once you’ve fallen in love with it!

Introducing House of Rena

Girl Meets Dress is thrilled to be the exclusive UK stockist of House of Rena’s debut collection. Influenced by their own personal style, designers and sisters, Reem Kanj and Natalya Kanj
have created dresses that exude both youth and glamour. Each piece has been made and embellished using the most intricate and luxurious fabrics and materials such as georgette, chiffon, jersey and Swarovski crystals worthy of any Hollywood starlet.

We had a chat with designers Natalya and Reem during their hectic week of their  launch

Why did you choose Girl Meets Dress as your first UK stockist?
We have been fans of Girl Meets Dress for so long, we couldn’t think of a better e-commerce site to introduce Rena via. The concept is genius and the access to beautiful dresses could not get more exciting or simple.

What type of events should our customers wear your dresses to?

Customers could wear our dresses to pretty much any event they wish to make a statement at. Be it a subtle or a ‘look at me’ statement. Weddings, awards, parties and pretty much and other event on your social calendar.

What were you doing before House of Rena?
Before House Of Rena Natalya and I were working hard on my Fashion blog FiveFiveFabulous.com, in fact I still work hard on that everyday. We’re good at multi-tasking! I also was studying at London College of Fashion and received my BA in surface Textiles in July 09.

How would you characterise your own fashion style?
We’re both high street lovers, we tend to only spend a lot of money on high end pieces when it comes to the key items of an outfit. We will carry designer bags but be head to toe in Forever 21 or Topshop.
