Sue launched the now multi award-winning IceTheCake.co.uk just over 2 years ago. Initially it was set up to just say ‘Thank You’ to the suppliers who had helped at her Wedding. However, since then this wedding website has grown at a sensational rate, encompassing an extensive wedding directory, stylish blog full of wedding ideas and inspiration, an online shop with quirky handmade products and on Saturday 3rd August, Sue launched her very first boutique in Buckinghamshire. Sue takes us through her top
dresses for weddings this summer.

1. Alice + Olivia – Olympia Embellished Dress £49
Who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle at a wedding? This exquisitely embellished silk wedding guest dress is perfect for a summer celebration. The overall design, with its v-neck, elbow length sleeves and ruched waistline, is flattering and stylish. Team with metallic silver sandals or blush courts for a polished look.

2. ETRO – Paisley Print Dress £69
I really love the graphic print on this wedding guest dress. Summery in design, but also perfect for an autumn wedding. With its pull on style it is easy to wear, but the overall look is chic and requires minimal accessories. Pick your favourite colour from the design and emphasize it with oversized clutch and shoes of your choice.

3. Gorgeous Couture – The Bailey Print Dress £49
My selection wouldn’t be complete without at least one, one shouldered design. The Bailey dress for wedding guests has to be one of my favourite’s, as it creates a beautifully curvaceous silhouette. Even better, although I have personally chosen the print version of this dress, Girl Meets Dress actually stock it in other colours too! You can choose from knee length, Black or Blush and full length Blush or Turquoise. Gorgeous!

4. Project D – Phoebe Pelum Dress £39
Elegant and classy, this wedding guest dress oozes sophistication. I adore the chiffon overlay element of the dress with delicate polka dot detailing. The peplum ruffle design, is great for creating curves and the overall look and colour is perfect for any time of year. Team with silver, gold or white accessories for a classic ensemble or with fushia or orange for a more contemporary look.

5. Diane Von Furstenberg – Belted Lupe Summer Dress £39
My final choice is just too pretty! A delightful mix of ruffles and florals makes this wedding guest dress ultra girlie, but the length and style means it is perfect for all ages. Whether you like heels or prefer flats this wedding guest dress lends itself to all styles of shoes, which makes it versatile for beach weddings with flip flops or kittens to a London Mayfair Hotel and killer heels.

I love how you could pick out the neon colour and match them with statement footwear and earrings. Best of all it is a British Label and I love supporting our home-grown talent.

Halston Heritage Twisted Halter Dress – £79

Halston Heritage‘s beautiful colour and cut make this a fabulous maxi dress for weddings. Pair it with a neutral jacket for the day-time festivities and fling that jacket on the dance floor later on! Flattering cut means you’ll be able to hide any indulgences you might make during the wedding breakfast.

Jil Sander Zip Front Dress – £89

This fabulous shift dress by Jil Sander has a wonderful raspberry hue that would match perfectly with a white tuxedo jacket. Demure in length and cut you’ll look elegant and sophisticated. I would love to wear it with a statement clutch and necklace.
