Now that Ascot has finally allowed the jumpsuit, why not wear the Frieda Jumpsuit? It’s bright, bold colours will lift a look whatever the weather. The fun fuchsia hue of Issa’s ‘Freida’ jumpsuit is full-on femininity at its best.

Alice and Olivia Epstein Jacquard Dress

Alice + Olivia’s ‘Epstein’ dress is a romantic summer style that’s impossible to resist. The bright sunflowers pop against the rich blue, while the mini hemline keeps the look girlish and sweet. Wear yours with strappy sandals or brightly coloured pumps.

Peter Pilotto dazzles with a kaleidoscope of bold colours on this punchy sleeveless dress. The ‘Kia‘ comes crafted with stretch for a figure-flattering fit.

Featured Blogger: Laura Polkinghorne from BiddyBoos.com

Laura
Laura Polkinghorne is currently in her final year of studying English at the University of Chichester. After doing work experience with a magazine,  She decided to start her own magazine style blog to extend her writing skills. Laura took the time out from her magazine writing to tell us about her 5 favourite cocktail dresses, especially with all the glitz and glamour of the parties coming up in the festive season!

Forever Unique Dress

From the ISSA designer range, this dramatic black and white zebra-print knit effortlessly creates an edgy, yet sophisticated look. Simply add some block colour accessories as this dress does all the work for you, which is why I love it.

Bodycon Dress

This innovative body con patterned dress by ESTRADEUR will guarantee to turn some heads at the party! I think the dollar design is brilliant and with a low cut neckline in the back, this dress oozes style. Wear it for a day event with some ankle boots or high tops or for a night look, pair it with some killer heels.

Bodycon Dresses

Embrace the Gothic with this gorgeous black lace dress by ANNA SUI. I love how it merges the modern three quarter length style with an old fashioned lace collar and waist and ties at the back. Teamed with some smoky make up, this dress is perfect for midnight meetings.

Herve Leger Dresses

Always providing the best party dresses, ALICE AND OLIVIA have not let us down with this dress either. It creates an elegant silhouette in jet black whilst adding a sensual aspect with the floor-length overlay of sheer fabric. I love how this dress is sultry without showing off lots of flesh.

Alexander McQueen Dress

For a classic and beautiful party dress that can be worn for any occasion, this sweetheart neckline bandeau dress from OPULENCE ENGLAND is a winner. I always love a dress with a bit of glitter, so I adore the rhinestone embellished corset top, especially paired with the floating chiffon skirt.

Featured blogger: Katie Gavaghan of Fashion Follows Her gives us her top cocktail dress picks

katie gg

Fashion Follows Her is Katie Gavaghan’s little domain. She features everything fashionable and fabulous online. Although slightly obsessed with stationery she enjoys afternoon tea and Jaeger handbags. Katie talks us through her top 5 cocktail dresses to hire online.

1. Carven Voluminous Skirt Dress – £59
Carven fluttered on to my radar a couple of years ago and this is a perfect example of why I love their cocktail dresses. The full skirt has a flattering 50’s flare without being too dressy- perfect for lunch with the girls.

2. Erdem Garzoni Dress – £109
Dark and deadly florals feature heavily for A/W13 and I plan on adding a bouquet or two to my wardrobe. No one holds a candle to Erdem when it comes to floral cocktail dresses – utterly beautiful.

3. Helmut Lang Shale Draped Dress – £49
Any girl with curves knows draping is her friend. Helmut Lang weaved his magic and creates form flattering cocktail dresses in cool palettes of smoky grey and subtle greens. Love!

4. See by Chloe Shirt Blouse Dress – £69
Most days I have to be prised out of my pyjamas, so this ‘off to bed’ trend is a firm fave of mine. The See by Chloe silk cocktail dress has the same relaxed vibe.

5.  Issa Zebra Knit Dress – £49
Animal print is a tricky beast to tame, you can go from classy to brassy quicker than I can say ‘Liz McDonald’ (can’t beat a spot of Corrie). Personally I stick with zebra print as it’s easier to wear and mix with other pieces in my wardrobe.
