1- Diva Sopha Jessica Gold Gown

Red carpet glam at it’s very best, this liquid metallic gown is a big statement but totally worth it if you’ve been invited to a fancy pants party. I’d team it with ’20s waves, Art Deco earrings and skyscraper heels, then hang around waiting for Ryan Gosling to approach (he might just want to know where the loo is but at least you have an in).

2- Alice and Olivia Candice Print Dress

I first saw this amazing summer shift on Solange at Coachella last year and have been obsessing over it ever since (besides, fruit never goes out of fashion and five a day should definitely apply to clothes too). I’d wear it with turquoise heels and a punchy pink lip – my fave fuchsia in the world is MAC Lipstick in Impassioned.

3- Alice and Olivia Papina Dress

This dress makes me want to sing Lady In Red (but don’t worry, I won’t). The little buttons and peekaboo lace are really cute but need a bit of toughening up – hello leopard heels and studded leather! I’d wear a ’90s poker-straight ponytail and lots of grungy eyeliner to make it a bit rockier.

4- Moshino Two Tone Lace Dress

The midi is a really flattering length on virtually everyone, and the combo of lace and bold mono stripes make this dress easy to get away with at summer weddings or parties. You could even get away with fancy flats if you’re not a heel-wearer. I would do the clash with a pretty floral blazer, a ’60s bouff and pastel extras

5- Issa Zebra Knit Dress

Zebra print + a bright biker + bejewelled sandals + a glitter box clutch = a winning Palermo-inspired party look. This frock is super versatile though – nude courts and a minimal clutch would look just as good.

 GMD’s Q&A with Hannah

How would you describe your style in one word?

Eclectic

What is the one item of clothing you could not live without?

My Sophia Webster Amma heels. They cost me a month’s rent but they look and feel like a carnival on my feet. They’re the grown-up equivalent of those plastic princess shoes you had when you were five.

Who is your style icon?

Poppy Delevingne is a goddess. From her flawless hair and make-up to the nail polish on her little toe, she seems so polished yet effortlessly cool. She always looks really chic but adds quirky little touches which I love.

rrrr

How would you describe your style?
Relaxed with a slightly quirky edge
What are your fashion loves, and your hates?
I love patterned trousers – just adore them. Whether they’re crops for the summer, patterned jeans or harem-esq pyjama style, I can’t get enough of them. I also love dress coats and long cardigans.
I don’t ‘hate’ fashions on other people, but I really can’t stand wrap dresses for me. They feel so wrong. Also I’m not a huge fan of cap sleeves (yuck) or ribbed polo necks (shudder). Anything too tight or too booby is also a no-no.
What’s the most loved item in your wardrobe?
Hmm hard one as I love things for different reasons. My most loved – and worn – item is a pair of light grey jeans. So worn they’re now ripped at the knee, which handily works well for the current rip trend! They fit beautifully and are just the right colour. I also love pair of harem-esq patterned trousers. Tailored at the ankle and leg, but loose at the top in black with a pattern, they’re just so cool and flattering. Then there’s my emerald green, Grecian-style Alice Temperley dress which I don’t wear that much (it’s a serious occasion dress), but is just so extraordinarily beautiful. I also love my (Temperley) wedding dress for the memories associated with it.
What advice would you have for anyone wanting to get into journalism?
So, this is a tricky one as the world of journalism has changed enormously since I started out. Back then (in 2000), the internet hardly existed, interns were paid, budgets were ridiculous and there were magazines being launched all the time. These days online is HUGE and, both Natasha and I believe, is very much the future. Traditional print media is being challenged and it’s a hard world for them. With this in mind, I’d recommend that aspiring journalists should set up their own blogs. Very cheap to do and gives you a platform for your work – it also shows future bosses that you have drive to get up and do something. In addition, you should try and build up a portfolio of published work. Write for school/student/local newspapers. Pitch ideas carefully – you’re not going to get a commission for Vogue if you’ve never been published before, but you might get one in a newspaper or online version of a newspaper if you are prepared to write on spec and have a unique idea that hasn’t been seen (the holy grail for a commissioning editor). And don’t give up. I probably got about 100 rejections before I got my first proper job. It’s hard, but it’s worth it.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
All over. Stories in newspapers, people I talk to, things I hear on the radio, people I see on the street, conversations I have. Everywhere.
Name one item no journalist should be without?
A computer. If you don’t own one – then you need access to one.
What is your favourite SS14 trend?
I’m quite digging the ugly shoe at the moment. I’m sure I’ll go off it soon, but at the moment it feels right.

The Cute & Short Up Do

Style muse: Think Taylor Swift  meet Eva Longoria=cute and sultry

This OPULENCE ENGLAND Gold Sequin gown is sure to make you shine on your big day. The beautiful gold crackle effect creates an interesting focal point to the dress and also reflects flecks of  light making it a selfie must have! The dress is cute and the cut is just above the knee making it a statment piece, your hairstyle therefore should be kept to an elegant and sleek up do to not detract from the dress, adding a small flower or hair pearls can add a nice touch in place of statement jewellry.

The Long & Elegant Look

Style muse: nicole scherzinger

This beautiful  ARIELLA Elizabeth Gown is perfect for a prom queen, the vibrant fuschia hue instantly transforms the dress into a s/s14 must have. The long flowing fabric cascades to the floor creating a lovely silhouette. This dress is a show stopper but the high neck brings the attention to around the neckline so opting for a soft half up half down hairsytle will create the perfect balance. Think elegant curls and soft plaits to maintain an elegant and chic look.
