Sam is a lifestyle blogger with a pretty adventurous spirit. When she is not jumping 14,000ft out of  a plane, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef or riding an elephant in Indonesia, she enjoys spending time writing on her lifestyle blog. – Strawbery Squeeze covers everything from her own personal adventures to Scandinavian homeware, wellbeing and beauty.

But because a great lifestyle needs the adequate dress code, here’s Sam’s favourite dresses from Girl Meets Dress.

“I LOVE bright colours, so the bold purple Harlow Maxi Dress from Gorgeous couture is on the top of my favourite list! ”

“There’s nothing worse than turning up to an event and wearing the same dress as someone else. This won’t happen with the Ariella Gigi Bandeau Gown. It has the perfect balance of class and fun. ”

“I absolutely love the Jovani Sequin Tulle Gown. It reminds me of the glamorous scenes in Gossip Girl, when they attended some of the top fashion events in New York. The most stunning blast from the past any girl could wish for!”

The NLY Chloe Dress Navy is perfect for a staff party or an evening event. It’s a classic design that oozes sophistication. Certainly on my list to hire for the party season!”

“I’ve always swooned over Alice and Olivia pieces, and the Sarah Mini Dress is absolutely no exception. This number is the perfect little black dress with a twist, and is bound to turn heads.”

Advent Day 20 – Guest Blogger Lisa Pounder Talks Fabulous Ball Gowns!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! What better way to be the belle of the ball with a new ball gown! Girl Meets Dress is offering some gorgeous dresses to stun this season from some of your favourite designers!

Alexander Wang of course top the glam factor with a slinky number of the Panne Velvet Dress, this gorgeous long length dress is stunning for that elegant look. The low back makes me instantly think James Bond’s girl style dress.  Paired with a long length blazer to take you home and you’ve glamour in the cab too! A beautiful dress reinstating the effortless and timeless piece of velvet.

To add sparkle in your step; go gold with Jovani’s Sequin Tulle Gown. This stunning floor length strapless dress shows instant shine. The best part to really twinkle is the mermaid style bodice that elegantly flows into the tail of the dress. This is such a beautiful dress to really show a statement.

For those who prefer simpler sleeker designs, the Little Mistress Wrap Front Dress in Silver is the ideal. The simple silver grey full-length dress that has detailing on neckline and waistline. This is definitely for those who prefer something simpler in flow of the dress and using the waistline to show off a great figure. This would be the perfect dress for winter and using the crystal like detailing to show off seasonal spirit.

Dina Bar-El Louisedress is an absolute stunner of a dress. The detailing on the bodice that flows around the back of the dress to keep eyes captured at all the of the dress is perfect for this season. In a gorgeous black with floral detailing through the dress. The skirt sits beautifully on the end and would be the ideal black tie or ball gown dress!

Whatever your style or occasion you’re sure to find the perfect dress at Girl Meets Dress!

Advent Day 12 – What to Wear to your Work Party by Sophie Parker from Cream and a China Cat

Thursday 12th December

It’s that time again where the end of year chaos takes over your home in a flurry of Christmas cards, mince pie crumbs, wrapping paper, and the last minute dash to find that forgotten Christmas gift. Somewhere in the mixture is bound to be a work Christmas party or two, which you have no idea what to wear to and simply don’t have the time nor inclination to spend hours trailing round the shops. Enter Girl Meets Dress! I extensively searched their fabulous options and found these fail safe beauties to get you through the season:

1. Tinsley Mini Dress by Rachel Zoe = As the super stylist/designer herself would say “I die” for this dress! It has glamour, elegance, show-stopping dazzle and a relaxed edge making you look effortlessly cool and stylish. Perhaps try wearing with the Deco Semi Sphere Ring by Dominic Jones for added glitz!

2. Riri Dress Red by NLY = bring the Christmas fun to the party in this festive, playful and gorgeously flattering little number. I love the skirt on this thing! Layered, swishy and the longer at the back detailing just makes it that extra bit special.

3. Concrete Drape Dress by Stolen Girlfriends Club = This delicate dress with almost iridescent qualities seems reminiscent of snowflakes and ice and would make a beautiful statement at any office party. Simple, restrained, gorgeous!

4. Imogen Dress Red by Forever Unique = If cheeky is your thing then look no further than this flirty number. A Day to Night styling is certainly possible in this gem, making your work party look even easier! Simply layer with a blouse, belt and jacket and pack your dancing shoes. Maybe add the Sally Square 2 tone (black) bag by Sara Berman to hold your party essentials.

5. Nala Knit Dress by Alice and Olivia = Another easy, transitional work to party dress with a heavenly sequined, soft metallic finish and eye-catching back detail. Sophisticated, understated, stunning!

So there you have my top Work Party picks. When deciding what to wear it is essential that above everything else you feel comfortable and happy with how you look. So pick a dress that suits you and your shape and make sure you love it! Merry Christmas xx

Advent Day 8 – Blogger Laura Pearson-Smith Shows Us How To Be Unique On New Year’s Eve

Sunday 8th December

It’s one of the biggest and busiest party nights of the year, so it’s important to make a statement in a unique dress that will stand out from the crowd. On occasions like this, the high street just doesn’t cut it; which is why I love the party dresses for hire from Girl Meets Dress. There are some amazing designers and quirky patterns- meaning nobody will turn up in the same outfit as you.

The Gold Sequin Prom Dress from Opulence England (£49 Hire) is the ultimate sparkly puffball dress. You’ll be like a beacon on the dance floor.

I also love the iconic Herve Leger Two Tone Bandage Dress (£139 Hire), as it’s best to start the New Year as you mean to go on- sexy and confident.

The bright and glitzy 70s-style Marc Jacobs Rainbow Paillette Dress (£49 Hire) is a disco showstopper, and with a £900 retail price tag, is one you probably wouldn’t get the chance to wear normally.

If the ’20s are more your thing, I adore the Great Gatsby-esque Versace Jeans Jenna Dress (£79 Hire) with its Art Deco-inspired print. It’s the epitome of elegance.

If you are going to a black-tie occasion to see out the end of 2013, and need a long dress, you won’t find better than the Holly Maxi Dress from Erdem. Its colourful galactic print is perfect for a night like this.

The idea of hiring designer dresses for special occasions is a great one. Once I’ve been photographed in a dress, I never want to wear it again; so this is the perfect solution. It’s much cheaper, and gives you so many more opportunities to wear stunning designs. It’s especially important during the festive season where parties running into the double figures are commonplace!
