Girl Meets Dress favourite Jonathan Saunders has gone from strength to strength over the past few years, but for the new season, fashion’s boy wonder has tried something new: the Jonathan Saunders girl has turned into a bit of a rebel.
Gone are the pretty prints, the neat cuts and below-the-knee hemlines. Instead, Saunders has decided that the new season calls for a darker, bad girl in the way of midriff-baring bra tops, thigh-flashing sheer skirts and figure-hugging metallic pencil skirts. His metallic striped dresses have rebellious edge, and with stripes proving to be a huge hit for SS13, be sure to show off your fashion credentials by stepping out in stripes by Jonathan Saunders next season.

Rachel Zoe is one of Hollywood’s most powerful celebrity stylists, dressing Eva Mendes, Demi Moore and Nicole Richie  among many others, as well as launching a  reality show ‘The Rachel Zoe Project’
Last year she decided to re-launch herself as a fashion designer unveiling a collection of womenswear at New York Fashion Week. We love her super cute dressesand have been receiving amazing feedback so far from the collections. The variety of styles and lengths mean there is always something for you and your special occasion, and AW12 is no exception… which we will be introducing over the next few weeks. The first couple of dresses are live now, with a particular favourite of ours below, the Cole Silk Wrap Dress, available to hire for just ÂŁ39 for 2 nights (RRP: ÂŁ349)

Her spring 2013Â ready-to-wear pieces, which were shown last week in New York were accessorized with items from her debut jewellery line, which we are very excited about, but unfortunately news has been circulating recently that her boho-chic collection is failing to entice shoppers.
Despite being picked up by a number of top US retailers, including Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman, this week we heard that apparently Selfridges has dropped the celebrity stylist’s clothes, but the store will still be stocking her shoes. We’ve heard that her London launch didn’t go as well as she’d hoped because the clothing line was too expensive.  WELL we don’t know if that is true, but here at GMD you can try all of her fantastic dresses for a fraction of the retail cost, and what better way to introduce yourself to a new brand to your party dress planning this season!

For spring / summer 2013, make like the Duchess of Cambridge – after only three days in, London Fashion week has confirmed that ladylike elegance is a must for next season.
The go-to designer for posh, proper frocks is Emilia Wickstead, where simple silhouettes were brought to life by rich colours, eye-popping prints and plunging necklines. At Vivienne Westwood Red Label, the models strutted their stuff in pretty, figure-flattering dresses which were styled with eccentric accessories, and at Nicole Farhi things were fluid, simple and chic in a neutral palette and soft fabrics.
There’s a ladylike style for everyone next season; choose from 1950s domestic goddess, Hamptons socialite or retro glamour puss. If you can’t decide, then head straight to Girl Meets Dress, where you can indulge by being all three!

London Fashion Week kicked off with a pretty start yesterday; going by Corrie Nielsen’s show, summer’s obsession with feminine pastels will continue to be a big trend for next spring. It’s always great to know that a trend will last more than one season (the mint green skater skirt that you bought in the summer sales will still work for SS13 – investment purchasing at its best!), but if you didn’t buy into the pastel trend last season just think of Girl Meets Dress as your sartorial saviour come next spring.
